Accessibility

Last updated: October 1, 2026

I want everyone to be able to use madebyawad.com, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive technology. My goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What I've done

  • Every page works with a keyboard, starting with a "Skip to content" link, and shows a visible focus outline.
  • Text and buttons are checked for color contrast against their backgrounds.
  • Images that carry meaning have text alternatives. Decorative images and animated previews are hidden from screen readers, and their content is written out in text nearby.
  • Form fields have visible labels, and errors are announced and explained in words, not just color.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off its scroll animations and shows the finished content instead.
  • The page uses real headings, lists, and landmarks so assistive technology can find its way around.

Known limitations

The scroll animations at the top of the home page and in the work section are visual. The same information is available as text on the page, and the animations switch off when reduced motion is on. The client website screenshots show real third-party sites, and I can't guarantee those sites are fully accessible.
